2007 ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING, Winnipeg, June 26, 2007 - 59 plus voting members, families and friend attended the 2007 Annual General Meeting of Rhythmic Gymnastics Manitoba, held at Sport Manitoba, 200 Main Street. The membership elected following individuals to the Board: Raymond Chu - President, Susan Yurkiw - VP Finance, Sandie Kowalski - Events Chair, Eva Swan - Clubs Representative, Tracy Chu - Athlete representative. After the business par of the meeting, membership celebrated achievements of the athletes, coaches, judges, officials and volunteers.
PROVINCIAL GYMNAESTRADA & “Send off to World Gymnaestrada”, Winnipeg, May, 6 2007 -
...And spectacle it was! Sunday, May 6 at the Tec. Voc Collegiate, over 200 gymnasts from Alegria, ARGO, Formettes, Goldstream, HPTCI, Momtaza, Rhythmic Royals, Masterworks Dance Studio and the Manitoba Gymnaestrada Team performed in front of the sold out house. One performance better than other kept the audience involved and asking for more. The afternoon was crowned by performance of the Manitoba Gymnaestrada Team with presentation of the program they will be taking to the the 2007 World Gymnaestrada in Dornbirn, Austria this July. Those of you who have missed this performance you have one more chance to catch them before they leave for Europe. The team will perform at the awards ceremonies of the 2007 provincial Championships, June 1-3, at Max Bell Centre.
TRACY CHU CAPTURES 2007 CANADIAN CHAMPION TITLE AND DEFENDS HER POSITION ON THE NATIONAL TEAM- The second year in the row, Tracy Chu captures Canadian Championship title in the Senior Level 9 category and qualifies for Rope and Clubs apparatus finals in the combined Senior Level 9 and 10 categories. Congratulation Tracy and coach Shari Hebert! Also competing at the Championships was Samantha Duha finishing 11th AA in the same category, Novices Anita Koleva, Sumandy Young and Juniors Kristi Nikkel, Danielle Stepnuk and Nadia Daoudi. Congratulation to all of our gymnasts, coaches and judges for representing Manitoba to your best abilities!
BALTIC CUP REFLECTIONS, May 2007- Hello All! We have just returned home from an incredible week in the town of Rumia, Poland. 2007 PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIPS - Congratulation to all gymnasts competing this past weekend at the 2007 Provincial Championships at the University of Manitoba, Max Bell Centre. Congratulation to our new Provincial Champions.
