Feedback:

Hello Manitoba Gymnastics board and 2010 gymnaestrada committe members!

First: Thank you for a wonderful gymnaestrada!

Having organized the Canadian National Gymnaestrada in 1990, I am well versed with the amount of effort such an event takes.

The infrastructure at the 2010 Canadian Gymnaestrada was faultless! Getting from and to the airport, getting to and from City Performances were effortless for performers. The food services was excellent; they made efforts beyond the call of duty to accommodate our departure time by opening for lunch 40 minutes earlier than scheduled. That was greatly appreciated. The accommodations within easy alking distance were another triumph for all. The performance site was excellent and I was particularly happy with the controls at the "stage" entrance. Many provincial gymnaestradas and past national gymnaestradas have suffered because of a lack of firm control at that point - you had that very important aspect very well in control. Controls, announcement and timing at this crucial point are what differentiate "amateur" events from more polished "professionally" produced events, regardless of the level of the performers.

My only suggestion would be that in future, groups be given exact floor space shape and measurements well in advance; for our group of 67 gymnasts, the absence of back corners use (taken away by the presence of angled curtains) required some last minute readjustment during performance. The larger the group, the more complex last minute adjustments tend to be. But that is a minor point compared to all the other details well considered and well tended to.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss my email, please feel free to write, Skype or phone.

Thanks again for organizing a supreme event!

Hello Zlatica,

I wanted to write to you to THANK YOU and all of the people who worked on the National Gymnaestrada held recently in Winnipeg!!!  It was a wonderful event in all ways!!!  The schedule ran perfectly over all three days.  It seemed to me, as a spectator, that there were no glitches or problems at all.  Thank you for all you did to make this wonderful event happen and in such a wonderful way for the gymnasts and for the gymnast supporters!!!

I spoke with you briefly at the gym on Thursday, or Friday.  My daughter is Kendra Leier of Adamo and Team Sask.  This was a most exciting event for her and for all of the gymnasts she coaches.  For all but three of the Adamo Club gymnasts this was their first National Gymnaestrada!!!  They were so excited to be there and performed so well.  For Team Sask it was the first time to have a team with three dynamic coaches and to have artistic gymnasts incorporated into the routine.  What a great combination!  It was truly a successful event for all of these gymnasts and one they will remember for a long time!

Thank you again for your continued involvement in gymnastics!!!  It is people like you and Marta, and others, who dedicate so much time to rhythmic gymnastics that make it so wonderful for those still performing!!  Thank you so very much!!!

To all the people who organized the National Gymnaestrada:

On behalf of the Alberta teams who attended the National Gymnaestrada, I would like to extend our thanks to the hard working organizing committee and volunteers for the effort that was put into making the 2010 National Gymnaestrada a success.

I've had the opportunity to talk to some of the participants and they have said they enjoyed the event and the opportunity to show Canada what they are able to accomplish as performance gymnasts.

All the best to you, and I hope that you have the opportunity to get some R and R after a busy season.

Sincerely,

Diane Gunn

Hello Zlatica,

I wanted to congratulate you and the rest of the organizing committee on hosting such a terrific event. The performances were amazing and everything went off without a hitch. The closing ceremonies were the icing on the cake - an event everyone can be proud of.

Now it's holiday time to recharge and relax.
